My experience with Devi Sthotras

I was facing life's toughest days during the second half of 2010 while at Dubai, mainly caused by the envy at work place which has gradually developed in to a situation where the relationship between me and my boss has started deteriorating. The bad element for this was a fellow worker, who has done all sort of malicious things to expel me from the job. But I don't have any other supports from any corner, a real helpless situation; I called my local astrologer and he advised me chant the slokas of Devi either in the morning or evening infront of a oil lamp. The slokas advised to me were Dala Strotham, Hryudaya Sthrotam and Kavacha strotham for 40 days, 11 time each days.

Miracle happened, subsequently while at job I was served with a termination notice by my Boss, but I don't know I got a sudden energy and boldness to fight back and argue with my Boss which has resulted in to cancellation of the termination letter.

Thanks to God and deity Devi for her blessings I am still continuing in that Job in Dubai.

Lord Hanuman Always Saves His Devotees

Jai Hanuman. I wish to share a divine experience which i was fortunate enough to have in my childhood. I used to go to a nearby Hanuman temple with my father on Thursdays. The idol in the temple is covered with ghee every day form morning till evening. The idol is built out of granite, but even though there are 5-7 lamps kept in the small space confining the idol, the ghee never melts from the idol. One thursday while i went to the temple with my father, the doors of the sanctum sanctorum were closed for afternoon pooja. During the deeparadhana ritual, a lady who was standing and praying, suddenly started to jump about and shrieking. This lady then came howling towards me and my father. She started telling that there is a photo of Lord Hanuman at the norht-east side of my pooja room and that i should do a pooja for that photo on the coming thursday with small bananas. I was in shock and just kept gazing at the lady. Then when the doors opened, the lady just fainted and then woke up as if nothing had happened.

As soon as i went home, i went and checked the north-east side of my pooja room (we had many photos hanging all over the walls of the pooja room). And to my surprise, there was a photo of Lord Hanuman there. I myself had taken the photo from a shelf and kept it there on the day before, but not even my parents were yet aware of the photo's presence. I am sure that it was Lord Hanuman who had spoken to me through that lady. I performed the pooja as advised. That night i had a dream in which Lord Hanuman was hugging me and saying that whenever you are in any distress just remember me. I woke up with goosebumps and immense happiness.

Ever since that day i have never had any problem which i couldn't overcome, thanks to the infinite grace of Lord Hanuman. jai jai Hanuman swami ki jai...sri Rama jayam

Lord Shiva...My Saviour

[This post is the first in a new section called 'My Experience', in which our beloved readers can share their experiences and memories about God and/or Hinduism]

Lord Shiva has always been my sole source of happiness. Ever since i was a little child, i was used to hearing stories about the greatness of Lord Shiva and how he was always ready to rush to help his devotees. I have often felt the grace of Lord Shiva in my life and  would like to share my most memorable experience here.

I have the habit of going to a nearby Shiva temple on every sunday. During my undergraduate exam time, i used to go to the temple and pray on the way to my college. On the day of my Electronics paper examination, i started from my home a little early since i was particularly worried about the test. I went straight to the Shiva temple and did my usual prayers, but due to the crowd at the temple, i became a little late and the door in front of the idol was closed for the morning pooja while i was praying. I was in quite a dilemma, since i might be late for my exam if i wait for the door to open, but if i go while it is closed, i might fall prey to Lord Shiva's anger. I thought for a while and then decided to stay and pray, since i felt that Lord Shiva's blessings would help me overcome any possible problems. After the pooja i hurried out of the temple. By this time it had started to rain. I was unable to get my usual bus and had to wait at the bus stop. After about 10 minutes, i decided to ask for a lift from people going on bikes. One particular gentleman stopped and agreed to help me. On the way to the college, the bike underwent an accident. Myself and the rider where thrown out of the bike and we landed onto the pavement as i shouted "mahadeva". When i got up, i realized that i had fallen onto a few cardboard boxes placed at the side and had just managed to miss an iron railing (with pointed tips) by a few inches. I didn't even have a scratch on me. My fellow rider had also miraculously escaped, while the bike was completely damaged. By-standers were amazed at our escape and made us understand how fortunate we were. I thanked Lord Shiva with all my heart and knew that it was only his infinite grace which saved my life. After that i proceeded to my college. I was 20mins late for my examination and was quite sure that i would have to appear for an arrear in the exam. But ,i was baffled when i got 75% for that paper when the results came. I could not stop thanking Lord Shiva for his blessings and know that every time i spend even a second to pray, that Lord Shiva is really listening to me and is always there to help me.
Om namah Shivaya
